Main donors in the NSIFT activities
- The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has invested in the projects/programs;
- The German Development Bank (KFW) has allocated Grant Funds to implement the Program “Community funds for the promotion of basic education and rehabilitation of community infrastructure” in Khatlon region, in three phases for 2005-2009, 2009-2014 and 2014-2018;
- The beneficiaries of projects/programmes (communities’ contribution) – is up to 10% of the project’s cost in the World Bank's projects, in the projects KFW – up to 5% of the project’s cost;
- The World Bank has allocated a Loan for the First and Second Pilot Projects on poverty alleviation (1997-2006);
- The UK Department for International Development (DFID) has allocated a Grant for enhancing the impact of the Second Project on poverty alleviation for the beneficiaries of the Project (2004-2006).
NSIFT Partners
NSIFT works with its partners in three areas:
- International organizations, such as KfW, GOPA, GIZ and UNICEF;
- Local authorities, communities, ministries, including Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, and other organizations;
- Local non-governmental organizations, particular project organizations, contracting organizations and suppliers.
Partnership with international organizations
Cooperation between NSIFT and international organizations, primarily based on mutual informing each other about the progress of their work.
With the German consulting company on organization, planning and training (GOPA) daily to discuss issues on projects, programs, and decisions, as well as monthly monitoring of the implementation of the Program, joint training measures held with community members, contractors, such as seminars, meetings and other measures.
With the German society for international cooperation (GIZ) to work on introduction of renewable energy sources in the school projects of NSIFT and dissemination of this type of energy in other projects of the Program. In the framework of the second phase of the Program “Community funds for the promotion of basic education and rehabilitation of community infrastructure”, NSIFT together with specialists of GIZ and GOPA piloted five innovative projects.
The cooperation between NSIFT and UNICEF is that UNICEF carries out training for members of Parents and Teachers Associations (PTAs) and beneficiaries of the NSIFT projects to observe the rules of sanitation, hygiene and drinking water quality.
Partnership with the local Hukumats, Ministries and authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan
In the beginning of the second phase of the Program “Community funds for the promotion of basic education and rehabilitation of community infrastructure”, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the NSIFT and district Chairmen covered by the Program, which stipulated mutual cooperation between NSIFT and Executive bodies of local authorities on the implementation of the Program.
NSIFT works closely with the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in particular with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Finance, State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, Holding Company “Barki Tojik”, the regional structures of state authorities, Jamoats and population itself, monthly informing them about the implementation progress of the Program.
Partnership with local non-governmental organizations
NSIFThas close cooperation with local non-governmental organizations, particular with project and construction organizations, and also with suppliers and training organizations.In the framework of the implementation of the third phase of the Program was prepared by project organizations 3 model projects with 6-10 classrooms on the basis of which will be linked to other projects. In addition, based on signed contracts project organizations provide monthly supervision over the implementing projects.
In the framework of the Program, NSIFT also has close cooperation with educational NGOs. The training of community members and PTAscarries out on technical and organizational modules by non-governmental organizations involved on the basis of the tender.
Now only in the framework of the implementation of the third phase of the Program “Community funds for the promotion of basic education and rehabilitation of community infrastructure” and the Program “Construction of schools and relevant infrastructure in Rasht group of districts”,which are implementing by NSIFT, about 30 Parents and Teachers Associations (PTAs) actively working as partners of NSIFT.
